Well I don't know how much detail I can give you. But you start by putting borders in the area you want. Then you use text tool to right something down. Then you can open a file with a picture and then shrink it to make it fit. And thats all I can think of.

I don't pick favorites but the skills I use for my projects are filtering cutting pasting these are some of the skills I learned.

Well photoshop you can take any picture you saved and mess with it like enhance or make it smaller. While in illustrator you can just paint over the pic. I guess I like illustrator cause you can paint.
